On November 22, 2022, the 11th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship contest (Biopharmaceutical) (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") successfully concluded in Hangzhou.
The competition focused on innovation and entrepreneurship in the biopharmaceutical sector, with a total of 329 participating companies (84 startups and 245 growth-stage companies), all of which were outstanding enterprises selected from regional competitions across the country. The participating projects covered a wide range of fields, including medical device R&D, innovative drug manufacture, gene editing, genetic testing, traditional Chinese medicine, and modern seed industry. The competition was conducted in a combination of online and offline format, using a "7+5" model (7 minutes for company representatives to present and 5 minutes for judges' Q&A). Over 50 venture capital experts from institutions such as China Venture Capital, China Economic Cooperation Group, Wi Harper Group, Green Pine Capital, ADDOR capital, and Fang Fund served as judges, evaluating the participating companies based on multiple dimensions, including technology and products, business model and implementation plan, industry and market, team dynamics, and financial analysis.
A total of 130 companies were selected as "Outstanding Companies in the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition." RECORNA Bio participated with its self-developed project "Disease Treatment Based on RNA Editing Technology" and successfully advanced to the national finals after rigorous selection in the Guangzhou and Guangdong regional competitions. The company was honored as an "Outstanding Company" in the national finals.
During the competition period, a series of activities were held including the Biomedical Industry Development Summit Forum, promotion of Hangzhou High-Tech Zone, pre-competition training, the "Thousand Eagles Soaring" plan introduction by China Merchants Bank, news release of innovation demands by large enterprises, public welfare lectures, large enterprise matchmaking meeting, and exhibitions of innovation and entrepreneurship achievements.
Participating in the competition and related networking activities will help RECORNA strengthen its strategic scientific and technological capabilities, promote the breakthrough in key core technologies, and facilitate innovation and integration between RECORNA Bio and upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry.
